If you run into the 5k character limit, you can break up your Formula into multiple Formulas that each reference the *static* mapped formula fields. The system will know to process it in the order of dependencies. 3. Ability to create rollup summaries that include formulas that reference other objects If a rollup summary needs to sum or filter by a formula field that has a relationship, you can use this mapping to circumvent this limitation. 4. Search by formula fields and speed up existing search. Simply mapping and using the static field allows you to search by any formula field. You can also index the static field to speed up searches.
