A pending contact cannot be confirmed by a regular update. An unsubscribed contact stays unsubscribed; its fields, lists and tags can still be updated. Pass allow_resubscribe => true only after a new, explicit opt-in. Sign-up confirmation still applies. The manual source skips confirmation and is reserved for trusted admin actions. It does not allow resubscription on its own. Never map this source or the resubscription flag from untrusted request data. The legacy keys contactEmail, contactFirstName, contactLastName, contactStatus and subscriptionStatus still work. On success the function returns success, contact_id and data; on failure, success => false and error. Handle failures before your integration continues. Privacy Your contacts, campaigns and statistics are stored in your WordPress database. MailerPress gives you double opt-in, unsubscribe and subscription management pages, and anonymized or disabled tracking.
