OpenStation
wp-admin forgets. OpenStation doesn’t. You know the moment. You’re deep in a post and you need one image from the Media Library. You click over, find it, click back, and everything you had going is gone. Your scroll position, your half-typed thought, the three other things you had queued up in your head. That’s not a bug you hit. That’s the design. wp-admin shows you one screen at a time, and every navigation throws the last one away. It has worked this way since 2003, like a fridge that empties itself every time you close the door. WordPress has rebuilt almost everything else. The editor, the site editor, the patterns, the styles. The admin’s one-screen-at-a-time model is the layer nobody touched. OpenStation touches it. Install it and admin screens become draggable, resizable windows. Edit a post while the Media Library sits open next to it. Drag an image from one window straight into the other. Keep comments open in the corner. Reload the browser and your window layout — open pages, positions, sizes, and window states — comes back where you left it. OpenStation itself is free, GPL, and opt-in per user. One click in the admin bar turns it on for you. One click turns it off. Nobody else on your site sees anything change, and deactivating the plugin restores the classic admin exactly. No Core patches and no lock-in. Optional AI providers may charge for their service. Built and maintained by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce, and Tumblr. Work on more than one thing at once Admin pages open as windows, including pages added by most other plugins. Drag them, resize them, snap them, tile them, minimize them to a taskbar. The admin menu becomes a dock of icons. Two editors open at once is one click away. Never lose your place Moving between open windows leaves each page in place. Across reloads, OpenStation remembers your open pages, window positions, sizes and states, virtual desktops, and focus. Closing a window with unsaved changes warns you first. A desk you can actually put things on Drop posts, media, and links right onto the wallpaper. Sort them into folders. Trash them to a Trash that actually holds things. The stuff you’re working on this week can just sit out where you can see it. One desktop per job Virtual desktops, the way your operating system does them. One for writing. One for the store. One for comment triage. One for that redesign you keep poking at. Switch between them without closing anything. Find anything with Cmd+K The full WordPress command palette, plus slash commands from your plugins, all under one keystroke. Turn on the optional AI assistant and you can ask it things like “which post had the comment asking for the recipe?” and it searches your own content to answer. (Requires an AI provider configured in Settings → Connectors on WordPress 7.0+. Details under “External services” below.) See how your site fits together The Corkboard is an interactive, zoomable map of how your posts, pages, and products link to each other. Pan around it. Find the orphans. Find the hubs. Running a store? Orders, Products, Coupons, and Customers become browsable folders with stock and sale ribbons. Open a customer to see their lifetime spend and what they buy most. Follow a product to its buyers, or a coupon to who redeemed it. Make it yours Wallpapers, from color presets to animated scenes to your own photo. Live widgets pinned to the desktop: drafts, stats, recent comments, a focus timer. Uploadable desktop themes, including a built-in Legacy theme that brings the old WordPress blue back in one click. And Mio, a soft-body desk companion that drifts across your wallpaper and gets bumped around by your windows. Off by default. You’ll turn it on. For developers Extend OpenStation through documented PHP and JavaScript APIs. Register windows, icons, wallpapers, widgets, commands, and settings tabs through stable openstation_register_* PHP APIs and a typed JavaScript API; customize dock items through documented hooks; add AI tools with the WordPress Abilities API. Copy-paste examples live in the developer docs on GitHub. External services No external service is required for OpenStation’s desktop interface. The optional AI Assistant and two user-initiated enrichment features make the external requests described below. AI Assistant The optional AI Assistant sends data to the AI provider you configure in WordPress’s Settings → Connectors (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). Generation is routed through WordPress 7.0’s built-in AI Client, which supplies the credentials stored in Connectors. The plugin never handles an API key itself. With no provider configured in Connectors, no external AI requests are made. When the AI Assistant is enabled and a user invokes it (via Cmd+K or the slash-command palette): What is sent: the user’s prompt, the conversation history for the active session, and tool-call metadata. The plugin’s built-in tools (search_posts, search_pages, search_comments) run WordPress’s native keyword search and may include excerpts of the matching posts/pages/comments in tool results, which are then sent back to the provider as part of the agentic loop. When it is sent: on user-initiated AI requests, and (if an administrator enables “Score new comments with AI”) on comment-save hooks for spam analysis. Posts, pages, and taxonomy terms are not sent automatically. Why it is sent: to obtain model completions and tool-call decisions that drive the AI Assistant. Who provides the service: whichever provider you configured in Settings → Connectors. Which provider (and endpoint) receives the data depends entirely on that configuration. Review the chosen provider’s own terms and privacy policy (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). URL shortcut favicons When an authorized user creates a desktop shortcut to an external URL, OpenStation asks that URL for its page HTML and favicon so the shortcut can display the site’s icon. The request is made from your WordPress server and sends the requested URL, the server’s IP address, an OpenStation user-agent string, and normal HTTP request metadata to the operator of that site. This happens only when a user creates the shortcut. The destination site’s terms and privacy policy apply. WordPress.org plugin information When an authorized user opens or refreshes parts of OpenStation’s Plugins window, OpenStation may request public plugin details, update metadata, and review excerpts from WordPress.org. These requests send plugin slugs, the site’s locale, and normal HTTP request metadata to WordPress.org. This information is used only to display and manage plugins. Review the WordPress.org Privacy Policy. OpenStation’s OAuth relay does not contact a service by itself. Third-party plugins that configure the relay may contact their own providers and are responsible for disclosing those services. Credits OpenStation is brought to you by Automattic. The plugin is open source under GPLv2-or-later; contributions are welcome on GitHub. Third-party libraries The plugin bundles the following third-party JavaScript library, loaded on demand only when a feature that needs it is in use: PixiJS (MIT License) — used by the Corkboard window, built-in canvas wallpapers (e.g. the animated WordPress logo), the Mio desk companion, and the Inkfall typing game. PixiJS is loaded from the plugin’s own assets/vendor/ directory; no CDN requests are made. Data files The Inkfall game’s word list (assets/games/inkfall/words.txt) is generated from the following sources (attribution also ships in the file’s header): FrequencyWords by Hermit Dave (CC-BY-SA 4.0) — English word-frequency ranking derived from the OpenSubtitles corpus. english-words by dwyl (Unlicense) — used as a validity filter. LDNOOBW English list (CC-BY 4.0) — used as an exclusion filter.

Genwave – AI Agent
Manage your entire WordPress site through one conversation. Visit Genwave · Create your free account Welcome to the Future of WordPress WordPress has powered the web for more than two decades, but the way people build and manage websites has changed. Today, website owners expect to create pages, launch products, improve SEO, fix issues and grow their business without spending hours learning plugins or searching through endless settings. Genwave was built for this new way of working. Instead of clicking through dozens of menus, you simply describe what you want. Whether you’re creating a landing page, updating your online store, building a custom plugin or improving your website, Genwave helps you get the job done through one simple conversation. What is Genwave? Genwave is an AI platform built specifically for WordPress. It combines website management, content creation, WooCommerce tools, SEO, plugin development, automation and website modernization into a single AI experience. Instead of installing separate plugins for every task, you connect your website once and use one intelligent assistant to manage everything. Whether you’re a beginner building your first website or an agency managing hundreds of client sites, Genwave helps you work faster, reduce repetitive work and focus on what matters most. Why We Built Genwave WordPress is one of the most flexible website platforms ever created, but over time it has also become more complicated. Building a modern website often means installing dozens of plugins, learning multiple interfaces and switching constantly between builders, dashboards and settings. We believed there should be a better way. Genwave was created to simplify WordPress without replacing it. Our goal isn’t to move you away from WordPress; it’s to make WordPress easier, faster and more enjoyable to use by adding an intelligent assistant that understands your website and helps you work naturally. One AI Agent. Everything You Need. Genwave is no longer a collection of separate AI plugins. There are no longer individual plugins for SEO, page building, website transfers or advanced features. Everything is now available through one AI Agent. From building pages and managing WooCommerce to creating plugins, improving SEO, fixing WordPress issues and organizing your content, every capability works together through a single conversation. One connection, one platform, one AI assistant. Why Genwave Is Different Most AI tools generate content. Some AI tools answer questions. Genwave does real work on your site: Creates pages Builds plugins Manages WooCommerce Optimizes SEO Modernizes websites Helps migrate websites Connects to managed services Generates code Fixes problems Build Websites Through Conversation Creating websites shouldn’t feel like assembling a puzzle from dozens of blocks and settings. With Genwave, you describe what you want to build — a homepage for your business, a landing page for a new product, a pricing section, a contact page — and Genwave creates modern layouts designed for today’s web. You stay focused on your ideas while Genwave handles the technical work. Modernize Existing Websites Not every website needs to be rebuilt from scratch. Many sites already contain valuable content, years of SEO work and important business information. Genwave helps modernize existing websites by improving layouts, structure and user experience while keeping your existing content, so you can evolve your site into something cleaner and faster instead of starting over. WordPress to Next.js Modern websites often demand faster performance, cleaner architecture and better user experiences than traditional themes can provide. For supported websites, Genwave can modernize your WordPress frontend using Next.js while keeping WordPress as your content management system. You continue editing through the familiar WordPress dashboard while your visitors get a modern frontend built for speed. You don’t need to learn React, configure headless WordPress or manage deployment pipelines — Genwave handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on your business. Cloudflare Deployment Deploying modern websites shouldn’t require DevOps experience. For eligible websites, Genwave can help publish your site to Cloudflare’s global edge network, delivering content closer to your visitors. The result is a site that loads faster, scales more easily and benefits from Cloudflare’s performance and security features — deployment becomes part of your normal workflow instead of a complicated technical process. AI Builder Building websites usually means spending hours in a page builder moving sections, adjusting spacing and testing layouts. Genwave takes a different approach: describe the website you want — a modern SaaS homepage, a restaurant site, a law firm landing page, a portfolio, an online store — and Genwave generates complete layouts that are easy to customize. Need changes? Keep talking, and Genwave updates the design without forcing you to start over. WooCommerce AI Managing an online store involves much more than adding products. Prices change, inventory changes, promotions begin and end, and customers ask questions. Genwave helps you create products, update prices, generate descriptions, organize categories, manage inventory, create coupons and work with orders through one conversation. Need to import hundreds or thousands of products? Genwave can help organize, map and import product data from supported files, reducing repetitive manual work. AI SEO Search engine optimization shouldn’t require multiple plugins and complicated settings pages. Genwave helps with many common SEO tasks: generating titles and meta descriptions, improving headings, optimizing image alt text, suggesting internal links, creating schema markup, reviewing content quality and analyzing pages. Whether you’re publishing a new article or managing hundreds of existing pages, Genwave helps keep your site optimized. AI Plugin Builder Sometimes the feature you need simply doesn’t exist. Instead of searching through thousands of plugins, describe exactly what you want — a booking system, a custom calculator, a CRM integration, a WooCommerce extension, an internal business tool. Genwave can generate complete WordPress plugin projects including PHP, JavaScript, CSS, database tables, REST API endpoints, admin pages, settings screens and scheduled tasks. The generated code follows WordPress development practices and can be reviewed, extended and customized like any other plugin. AI Image Generation Great websites need great visuals. Genwave helps you create and improve images without leaving WordPress: generate featured images for blog posts, create product images and banners, improve existing images, remove backgrounds, resize images for different devices and produce multiple design variations — directly from your conversation. AI Content Creation Writing content takes time. Genwave helps you move from an idea to a published page much faster. Generate blog posts, landing pages, service pages, product descriptions, FAQs, category descriptions and marketing copy while keeping your preferred writing style. Need to update existing content? Genwave can rewrite, simplify, expand or translate it while helping maintain consistency across your site. Website Migration Moving a website shouldn’t feel risky. Genwave helps simplify supported website migrations by guiding the process from start to finish. Whether you’re moving to a new server, importing an existing website or starting a new project, Genwave helps reduce manual work while keeping the migration organized. Vibe Coding for WordPress Software development is changing. Instead of writing every line of code by hand, people describe what they want and let AI build it. We believe the same should be true for WordPress. Need a homepage? Describe it. Need a booking system? Describe it. Need a customer portal or a custom WooCommerce feature? Describe it. The AI understands your request, builds the solution and helps you refine it through conversation. You focus on the idea; Genwave handles the implementation. AI Website Management Managing a WordPress website involves hundreds of small tasks: updating pages, creating content, managing plugins, reviewing settings, checking errors, optimizing SEO, updating products and monitoring performance. Genwave helps reduce that workload by becoming your AI website assistant. Instead of remembering where every option is located, you explain what you need — whether you’re maintaining one website or hundreds. Security Your website is one of your most valuable business assets, and Genwave is designed to help you work safely while keeping you in control. Before making important changes, supported actions can be reviewed and confirmed. The platform validates permissions, works within your WordPress environment and gives you clear feedback before major operations. For best results, we always recommend keeping recent backups and testing significant changes on a staging site. Performance Optimization Website speed affects user experience, SEO and conversions. Genwave helps identify opportunities to improve your site by reviewing common performance issues: optimizing images, reducing unnecessary assets, reviewing page structure, improving loading behavior and recommending caching strategies. When supported platform services are used, Genwave can also help modernize eligible websites using newer frontend technologies built for better performance. Managed Hosting Running a website shouldn’t require becoming a server administrator. Genwave offers managed platform services designed to simplify hosting and website management — from connecting domains and SSL certificates to backups, monitoring and deployment. As the platform grows, additional managed services continue to become available through your Genwave account. Built for Everyone Website owners: You don’t need to know PHP, CSS or React, and you don’t need hours of tutorials. If you can describe what you want, Genwave helps you build it — a personal blog, a company website or an online store. Agencies: Small changes across many clients quickly become large amounts of repetitive work. Genwave helps you move faster with website updates, content generation, WooCommerce management, SEO improvements and plugin development, while you keep full control over the final result. Developers: Genwave helps accelerate development by generating plugin structures, REST APIs, admin pages, custom post types, database tables and settings pages. It doesn’t replace developers — it removes repetitive work so you can spend more time solving real problems. Real World Examples Genwave can assist with projects like: Build a booking system for a hotel Create a WooCommerce shipping integration Build a customer support portal Generate a complete company website Create an appointment scheduling plugin Build a learning management system Import thousands of WooCommerce products Create custom calculators and internal dashboards Generate marketing landing pages and pricing pages Build a real estate or restaurant ordering website Modernize an existing WordPress website If you can describe your idea, Genwave helps you bring it to life.
