Set it up in a few steps and place the timer where visitors will see it. The countdown then runs on its own until your event begins.
When the countdown reaches zero, the timer switches to its ending state and shows a closing message instead, for example that the event has started or that your next event will be announced soon. Visitors who arrive after the big day still know where things stand.
